Monster Island is the name of The Asylum’s 2019 mockbuster. It was published ironically around the same time that Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Monster Island is about the Monster Island, an island where a monster, who may also be called Monster Island, can be found.


Because it is a film about asylums, it has a similar budget to a large kid's dinner. It also makes economical use its resources by focusing on small numbers of characters and keeping the major actors in one place so they can all be shot at the same time. The Asylum may not do an awful job considering that it is a work (link to info) in kaiju.
